What makes us Different?

 
 
Thank you for choosing Small Measures LLC for your child’s evaluation. We look forward to providing you with the highest quality rehabilitative care. Please review this policy carefully regarding how our practice works, our fee arrangements and billing methods. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us.
 
We are a developmental assessment center. We provide comprehensive assessments seeing your child from all aspects of their health and development. Most visits start with a comprehensive intake, and testing. In most circumstances you will not receive testing results at the intake/testing appointment as standardized testing has to be scored and evaluated. Sometimes additional testing is needed to complete the picture or additional information must be obtained to figure out the precise diagnosis for your child. 
 
To provide the best possible care, a feedback appointment (generally a 30 minute visit) will be scheduled with you (ideally without your child present) to sit down and review the testing, diagnosis and any recommended treatment. In most cases this is not covered by insurance and a small fee is charged for this visit simply to cover the therapist’s time. We feel strongly that this visit is important for you to understand the testing that was done, how to interpret it, how to understand your child’s diagnosis, if any exists and what the treatment recommendations are. Our philosophy at Small Measures is that you be fully informed and fully part of the treatment plan. This visit bridges the gap between testing and treatment.
 
 
Insurance Information
 
 
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Connecticare Insurance Plans.  For families with other insurance plans who have out of network benefits we can provide receipts that you may use to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.  Our office does not guarantee that any amount will be recoverable.  Please note that every insurance plan is different and it is your responsibility to know if you have a deductible or co-insurance on your plan for speech and language services. 
 
Record Requests
 

This office will provide a copy of your evaluation to both you and your pediatrician at no extra charge. However additional copies requested for any reason may be charged a fee for copying and mailing.   This fee is generally $20 per requested report and can be paid with cash, check or credit card.


Cancellations and No Show Visits

 

Deposits to book an appointment are not refundable.  If you call to reschedule an appointment due to illness or emergency we require 24 hour notice and we will offer you the next available appointment.

We do charge a fee for no show or late cancellation appointments.  We apologize but this helps avoid openings in the schedule that could have been used by clients on the waitlist.  We appreciate your understanding.
